Hi James,

You will need to call your insurers and see their stance on validation.

If the loft space is used for storage only then you need not worry about building/fire regulations.

However if the space is going to be used as a bedroom and classed as a bedroom upon sale then an assessment by an architect and some modifications may be in your favour.
