Stairs into loft
by: Anonymous

I have just had a extension built above my garage.
The new loft has been built using rafters therefore
Creating a good space. However the old loft is trussed. I need to get the stairs up in the old part,
And so would need to remove two lots of trusses
At the old gable end.Is there a simple way to do this?
Many Thanks

Yes you can join steel beams together using bolts, they are easier to install, and you will need a structural engineer to design your beams and the joint system.

They do cost more to buy but you can save money during the installation as they will be lighter to handle, some large single beams may even require the use of a crane.
