New Roof Design
by: Anonymous

Answer From Johntheloft.

Change from a truss design to a conventional cut and pitched roof.

A quotation from a good roof chippy will enable the necessary head height required.

Subject to your structural engineers approval you should be able to run sufficent size timbers between the existing ceiling joist from front elevation to rear elevation useing internal walls for extra added support, eliminating the use of steels.

To have such a large variation would suggest there is a mismatch in dimensions.

Where your original plans CAD generated, and how was the Truss manufactures information established?

Without seeing all of the relevant information it is difficult to establish what has gone wrong.

Notwithstanding, should the trussed rafter solution not work, we can look at ways to resolve your design with the constraints you have described.

We would like to help you establish what has gone wrong and work with you to resolve this issue. Please feel free to contact us with relevant data and we will try to help you.
